YInMn Blue (#2E5090) is a vivid blue inorganic pigment discovered in 2009 at Oregon State University, named for its ingredients yttrium, indium and manganese. Crayola’s “Bluetiful” was inspired by it.

Yale University’s official identifying color is Yale Blue #00356B, formally adopted in 1894 when the university chose dark blue as its color. The lighter #0F4D92 is a public-list catalog value also called ‘Yale Blue.’

Catalogs reuse names like “Yellow” or “Yellow Green” for different hex values. Rather than keep bare numbers, each variant carries a short tag (for example Munsell, Crayola, Deep) so the canonical version keeps the bare name.
